User Guide of VidOn Player HD (iPad)


1. Video Transfer

1.1 How to add files into VidOn Player HD via iTunes?

a. Connect your iPad to your PC via a data cable. Open iTunes, and click your device – iPad.


b. Click “Apps” option and slide to the bottom to choose “VidOn Player HD” in “File Sharing”.

c. Click “Add” to add files into the program, or you can directly drag the files you want to add into the file list.


1.2 How to add files into VidOn Player HD via Wi-Fi?

a. Make sure your iPad is connected to Wi-Fi network, and your PC and iPad are in the same LAN.

b. Click iPad icon to open “iPad media library”. Then click “Wi-Fi” button to open “Wi-Fi Transfer” page.



c. Input corresponding address into the browser (Upload via WEB) or resource manager (Upload via FTP) on your PC.

d. Browser (Upload via WEB): Choose the file you want to add, then click “Upload”.


e. Resource Manager (Upload via FTP): Drag the file you want to add into the file list to start transfer.



2. VidOn Server

2.1 How to set up VidOn Server?

a. Download and install VidOn Server on your PC, and make sure your PC and iPad are in the same LAN. It’s available for download at:

b. Click to open “ Media Center” to add VidOn Server.


c. You can automatically search or manually add VidOn Server. Note that if you choose to add manually, you need to input relevant info then click “Save” to connect.



2.2 How to sift or search videos?

a. Connect to an available VidOn Server. And click the search icon as showed in the below screenshot.


b. Input search info or choose search type.


2.3 How to switch VidOn Server?

Go to Media Center to choose the icon showed below to open List View mode.




2.4 How to view Blu-ray movies and other HD videos?

a. Add your video sources into VidOn Server.

b. Open VidOn Player HD, and connect to VidOn Server.

c. Choose the main title or other titles of the Blu-ray to watch.


3. Network Share Media

3.1 How to use UPnP/DLNA?

a. Make sure your UPnP/DLNA device and your iPad are in the same LAN.

b. Click to open “Network Share Media” then it will automatically search for available UPnP/DLNA devices.

c. You can directly browse them.


3.2 How to use FTP Client?

a. Click to open “Network Share Media”, and click “add” icon.


b. Choose “FTP Server”.


c. Input necessary info to connect to the FTP server. Then click “Save” icon to connect to the server.


3.3 How to use Windows Share/Samba Server?

The operation for this is the same with the above FTP Server adding.


3.4 How to download resources from a home network share server.

a. Go to an available home network share server and click “Download” icon.


b. Click to open “iPad media library” to check the downloaded resources.


4. Video Playback

4.1 How to use the player?

a. Switch screen size: original, 16:9, 4:3, full screen.

b. Play control panel: fast forward 30”, fast rewind 30”, previous/next video.

c. Video toolbar: screen snapping, screenshot files, settings.

d. Decoding status: software decoding or hardware decoding. (The default decoding mode is software decoding, but it will be changed to hardware decoding if the video supports it)


4.2 Gesture control for playback, volume and brightness.


4.3 Choose audio tracks and subtitles in Settings page.


4.4 View and edit images.

Open “iPad media library” to choose “Image” to view and edit all images. And you can also print the images if you like.
